ViaNostos
Our Story
ViaNostos is an independent publishing venture rooted in the belief that literature creates a meaningful space in human life. Based in Belgium, we set out to connect with readers who live between languages, feel a sense of belonging to different places, and seek to see the world from more than one perspective.
ViaNostos was born from Emel Kılıç's interest in literature and human stories. Her fascination with the inner world of people, relationships, and the search for belonging forms the intellectual foundation of the publishing house.
For us, returning home means more than arriving at a familiar place. It is also about finding a place for ourselves again within lives that are constantly changing. Sometimes that place is found in a language, sometimes in a memory, and sometimes in the pages of a book.
Our Publishing Philosophy
We look for a distinctive voice, intellectual clarity, and a thoughtful approach to the possibilities of language. Alongside fiction, poetry, and essays, we are interested in writing that explores the inner world and social experience of human beings.
Our editorial approach is based on understanding each text on its own terms, in relation to its intention and form. We aim to preserve the author's voice, bring clarity to the writing, and maintain the integrity of the book as a whole. At the same time, we want to leave readers enough space to form their own interpretations and engage with the work in their own way.

Between Languages
Living across more than one language means being able to approach the same experience through different words. This plurality is an important part of ViaNostos's perspective. We are interested in the ways literature gives expression to migration, memory, and the connections formed between cultures.
Our website is available in Türkçe, Nederlands, and English. The publication language of each book, as well as any available translations, will be indicated on its individual book page.
